Alternative transport vision for the South East corridor

A report exploring sustainable transport alternatives to the car along the A27 corridor through Sussex.
Amount: £31,895
Decision made: Dec 2016

Focus of work

The South Coast Alliance for Transport and the Environment (SCATE) is a network of individuals and independent organisations united in opposing damaging road building and in championing investment in cleaner and more efficient alternatives. In 2016, FIT funded SCATE to produce a report to explore what could be achievable on the Sussex coast to improve people’s transport choices without the need for expensive and highly damaging road schemes.

Impact

The report was published in December 2017, alongside a summary report and video, which has had over 1,000 views. The report was promoted at events and distributed to politicians, councils and other key community leaders and groups along the coast. It was also recognised and promoted by other charities and campaign groups working across environmental issues.
