Climate Action: Race to Zero Innovation awards

The Race to Zero Innovation awards will award five young people aged 16 to 35 for sustainable transport solutions they would like to implement.

Focus of work

The Race to Zero Innovation awards will award five young people aged 16 to 35 for sustainable transport solutions which they have created and would like to implement. This is part of a wider initiative to engage young people in climate action in the run-up to COP26 and beyond, which includes helping young people Understand Better, Speak Up and Speak Out, and Do Something Now.

Impact

The young innovators selected for awards will become part of a “Do Community” of young innovators addressing various aspects of climate change. Their solutions will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but will also inspire others. We will also invite those who are not selected for awards to join this “Do Community”. The awards will be made during 2021, but Climate Action: Race to Zero will continue beyond, and the FIT grant will ensure that the issue of sustainable transport continues to be a part of the initiative.
