London Cycling Campaign’s Climate Safe Streets project calls for zero-carbon roads in London by 2030. In 2020, FIT supported this campaign with a grant to support its communication activities, including the creation of a video and other shareable content to promote this important work and influence decision makers, particularly in the run up to the mayoral elections.
Impact
Although FIT’s funding was around the creation of content, the impact has been broader. In 2023, the campaign released a progress report, detailing its impact in each London borough. The report shows the success of boroughs such as Camden, which has pledged and continued to rapidly deliver protected cycle tracks on main roads, and other boroughs that have made commitments and undertaken efforts to achieve them.
