Focus of work

Enroute was a campaign group advocating for policies and initiatives that improve sustainable transport infrastructure, making it accessible and attractive to all.

It received a small grant from FIT in 2024 towards its campaign activites, including:

  • Report on the impact of the withdrawal of international service in Ebbsfleet and Ashford stations (Kent), and on potential solutions to continuing barriers to restoring the service.
  • Report on how Green Infrastructure can support and complement Active Travel, and how the two can be better integrated in our urban planning system.
  • Report on how disused railway alignments can be reused as guided busways, and the advantages and disadvantages of doing so.

The group also supported four volunteer transport analysts in developing research projects (three recruited during the reporting period). Two analysts completed their projects, which have been published on the archive website.
