Healthy Streets Scorecard

Focus of work

This project will mobilise 100 local campaigns asking for key, specific, neighbourhood by neighbourhood changes across London to deliver radical change and traffic reduction. The Healthy Streets Scorecard coalition is uniquely positioned to do this, using their proven campaigning expertise and unrivalled data on how London’s 33 boroughs manage transport. These campaigns will work by building the political capital necessary to enable councils to act – accelerating positive change in some areas and confronting negatively predisposed inactivity in others. The group will create new templates for change that will have national impact.

The London Boroughs Healthy Streets Scorecard has been published for five years. They have high-level influence and key politicians report the scorecard drives them to take action and provides an important annual moment for boroughs to reflect on progress. London TravelWatch, the official Transport for London watchdog, joined them as a partner in 2022. The coalition deliver strong communications via media, social media, meetings, events and e-newsletters; their network of local groups use their resources to support campaigns for change.
