Focus of work
The Aberdeen Cycle Forum was established in 2003 by a group of people wanting to improve conditions for cyclists in Aberdeen. Today, it is widely recognised as the main organisation representing local cyclists.
In 2021, FIT funded Aberdeen Cycle Forum £400 to commission an external expert to review plans of Aberdeen City Council’s Berryden Corridor proposal – a dual carrigaeway that would increase the amount of motor traffic travelling through the city centre. The Forum aimed to use this information to help fight the proposal and put pressure on the council to drop their plans, freeing up money to spend on active travel and public transport.
